Week 55 - You're the Reason Why I Become a Smiling Face

KONNICH. 🇯🇵 One thing I love more than life is Japanese English. It makes me become a smiling face. 🙃

QUASIMODO

The other day I drag myself out of bed, right?? My eye kinda is hurting for some reason...and I look in the mirror and just 'AH!' MY EYE. is swollen. ahahah I was like...'well awesome! Good thing we are going to church today to renew some covenants.' I could feel my eye getting more swollen as the morning went on haha. I was greeting some members for church...and this is kinda how it went:

Me: "Good morning! It's so good to see you! *goes in for a hug* how are you doing?"

Member: *steps back* "OH. Phelps Shimai...what's with your...eye..?"

Me: hug me

I also stopped wearing makeup because it is hotter than hades. So I low-key looked like Quasimodo from that Disney movie. lol

NAGASHI SOMEN

YO my ward is so cool. They planned a small ward activity before I leave Tsukuba. Because I am (for sure this time) transferring ahha. They planned this sick Nagashi Somen party! I will attach some pictures, but it was so cool!! We played tons of games after and it was just a blast! I honestly have no idea how to explain it, (especially in English) but most of you all have access to Google...sooo you can look it up :)

NAKAHARA SAN has my heart

OHHH. k. She is my favorite human. She is our investigator who was so close to being baptized, but then had crazy family problems and she dropped off the face of the earth.

WELLL we found her address and biked almost 2 hours! *worth every second*

We show up, I'm just praying that she is there... because she had no idea we were coming. She opened the door and was like, "PHELPS SHIMAI!!" and we both started crying. (but mostly me haha) I was SO happy to see her!! It was one of those moments where you are just like: 'THISISTHEBESTDAYOFMYLIFE'!

She is seriously an angel from heaven. We were talking and she started to really open up about what has been going on lately in her life. And the Spirit and the love that I felt for her...is impossible to put into words.

Seriously. GUYS I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY IN JAPAN TOKYO. These feelings that I am blessed to feel for others come directly from heaven. Not man made. Although, she/he/we/they are going through hard trials...God is aware of each of us individually and is aware of what we go through.

I believe if we could daily remember and recognize the debth of that love our Heavenly Father and our Savior have for us...We would be willing to do anything to be back in Their presence again. Surrounded by Their love eternally. What will it matter? What will it matter what we have suffered here if, in the end, those trials and hard experiences are the very things which qualify us for eternal life and exaltation in the Kingdom of God with our Father and our Savior?

When I look at it that way, everything changes.
