Week 52 - Nuns Having Fun In The Sun

Not gonna lie, I feel like I'm a nun sometimes. we wear dresses (sometimes of darker shades) we sing almost 24/7, we don't talk to men...and sometimes I feel the need to make myself a head wrap becauuuseee...I can have fun in the sun and can enjoy it for a whole 3 seconds before i feel like I'm boiling to death.

But being a missionary is much better than being a nun :)

BIRTHDAY ROUND 2

Yuka took us to this sick Hawaiian restaurant! We ordered food that was just as big as our heads but definitely broke the bank. haha

I paid like $19 for a hamburger hahahha ahahah it was worth it.

As we were getting done eating.... all of a sudden this Happy Birthday song just starts blasting through the speakers! It was the best version of happy birthday I have ever heard! It was kinda like a rock style kinda song lol.

I was like, "oh cool! its someones birthday!"

and then to my surprise a bunch of cute Japanese people in Hawaiian clothes start dancing towards me and I was like...."wait wut?"

They set this huge plate of pancakes (with sparklers for candles) with my name on them!! Legit the best birthday of my life!!

SHOWERS FROM HEAVEN

So right after the birthday stuff was over, we take a nice glance outside....and it is just pouring rain. Legit typhoon! The funny part was, we walked for about 30 minutes to get to the restaurant! We had to book it back to the church for a ward FHE that our investigators were going to!

Long story short, we walk into the church looking like we just hopped in the shower with our clothes on.

Something about me though, is I LOVE rain. I love it :) So I knew that God loved me by sending me buckets of it!

MY HOMIE SHUNLIN

It was my homies bday this week!

*warning: this story is gonna be like a firehose*

It was the craziest thing, we made him a card and a present, and planned to go visit him and then all of a sudden we just see him walking on the sidewalk by our apartment!!!! We probably looked like crazy people throwing ourselves down our apartment stairs just to say happy birthday to him and to give him his present! ahaha

This happened so fast, but we saw his mom (Li San) a few minutes later and she was like, 'come to dinner with us!'

I don't know if you remember Li san?? She was the one that randomly walked into the church one Sunday, asked us to teach her about the gospel, and she started bawling when we taught her about how God is our Heavenly Father who loves her... She said she wanted her son to become Christian??? Yeah this is the family we are talking about here!!!!! I also cried on Shunlins porch because he said he wasn't interested in learning about something that can make him happier...?? yeah anyways,

IN THE MIDDLE OF DINNER SHUNLIN SAYS, "Ya know I think I am going to go to the church on Sunday."

UMMMM WHAT?!?! I WAS DYING AND ALMOST ON THE VERGE OF TEARS!!!!!!!

We have been praying and fasting for Shunlin for a few months now and when he said that, I KNEW that God cares so much about Shunlin. it was the craziest miracle of my life. I also have a huge testimony that genuinely loving people goes a long way in their conversion process. :)

After that we had a sweeet bday party for him in the church parking lot. we got pudding, balloons and bubbles. Lol best bday.

JAPANESE HUMOR

There is a new missionary here in Tsukuba, and one of the members was trying to get to know him. it went like this:

Elder: "I'm from New York"

Member: "Oooohhhhhhhh...... thats so cool!! thats in Idaho right??"

Elder:...."No, its in New York."
