Nacho Libre. Classic. :)
This week I had a moment where I was like, "wait a second...What day is it???"
*puts on party shades, turns snap back sideways, disco ball comes from the ceiling, starts throwing confetti...Q's the mo-tab* 🐫
I hit my half way mark! This time has gone by so fast! When I first got to Japan...I was convinced I wasn't going to see my family again. Haha It was hard to stay positive when I had jet lag up the wazoo, I was immersed in a different culture, and I had no idea what people were saying to me. I seriously thought I was going to be here forever! Haha (the pride really got to me at that point)
But honestly, I have never been happier!!! I have never truly loved people like this. The Japanese people are so special to me. They deserve all the love in the world.
I have gone through lots of changes, but by far...my favorite change has been that I have an actual, close, meaningful, and beautiful relationship with my Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. My gratitude for my savior Jesus Christ can not be explained into words or feelings that come from this world. I love him with everything that I am. It is a privilege to be his servant on this beautiful island of Japan.☺ It was really amazing to celebrate the most glorious moments in history. What an amazing miracle it is that he arose from the grave. I know he lives.
THE HEART ATTACK 🍦
So last Pday I did one of the probably life threatening things you basically could ever do to yourself. Haha Yuka and I bought a 60 cm Parfait. (Pictures attached) And we ate half of it! HOLY COW. I thought I was going to die. When I felt myself getting full, I was like, "ok Yuka. You got this girl. Imma tap out right now..and you finish the rest of it!👏" aha....I have never been forced to eat anything in my life until that moment. She was like, "Nuh uh! You gonna keep eatin!" And ya know....Japanese people...you just can't say no to them, am I right?
Still one of the worst decisions because afterwards we had to bike 40 mins to get home.
I biked into a bush. I'm serious. I was all over the place. I swear I was seeing things haha.
Word of caution: dont be fooled. 60 cm tall icecream kills.
FANCY FANCY
I'm just gonna keep my food streak up. :)
The next day, a member took us out to lunch! When we got to the place....I thought she was just kidding...but no. We drive up to this mansion of a restaurant. She said the restaurant was built in the same Era of Joseph Smith! We walked in and I'm jaw dropped to the floor. It was sooo nice. I swear I was drinking like 100$ water. Haha!! It was crazy!! I was in shock the entire time.
After we went to go visit a member who was in the hospital. He is the 2nd counselor in the bishopric. Such a cool guy!! Knows English fluently and can play the piano so beautifully. A few months ago, he was admitted because they found a tumor and bleeding in his brain! He is such a fighter! He is getting better and better everyday. That was such a cool experience to share my testimony of Jesus Christ with him. When we were about to leave, a nurse opens his room curtain....and then he just starts sharing the gospel with him! Nothing can get in the way of his Dendo fire!
SUZUKI IKUKO♡
She is the mom of the family of 7 that just popped up so randomly last week! She loves to come to our mission school to learn English! And there was a moment where she said something SUPER funny and we both were just crying. Her "real laugh" is so so cute! As we were both laughing, I looked at her....and I just felt truly happy. I actually started to cry a little bit because I recognized and felt that GOD LOVED HER. That was truly a special thing to be able to feel that. I know that God knew who she was and loved her more than words can express.
I truly love her so much :')
EASTER
We had a really fun Easter party with the primary on Saturday! We hid eggs all over the church and did a scavenger hunt. I was basically useless at that part because I can't read Kanji like they can 😂 So I basically looked like a lost puppy.
But a huge miracle happened!!! A mother and 2 of her kids came...it was the first time any of us has seen her. She moved to Tsukuba earlier that week. Her 11 year old son was a member...but she wasn't! He was the only one! The more we got to know her that day....we realized that she wanted to find the truth!!! She was trying to pull the gospel into her life!!! She came out of NO where!! Sister Mitchell and I are so excited to help her understand that she has a loving Heavenly Father who loves her, and a savior who died for her so she could live it him again. AHH!! this work is so fun!!!!!!!! ☺☺
Sorry I don't have alot of time today! It's our temple pday!! But I love you all so much!!!! I hope you all had a great Easter :)
