Week 35 - Do you have a boyfriend????

You're all probably wondering why that is my subject line.

Story time:

Sister Mitchell and I were walking by the train station, and this guy stopped us! (The thing about our mission that is super different from other missions is that we aren't allowed to approach men on the street. Or teach them) And so we were super surprised and this is what happened:

Guy: "Where..eat?"

*We only spoke in Japanese to him*

Us: "Over there by the mall"

Guy: "ok. Do you want eat?"

Us: "no"

Guy: " How old you? Do you have boyfriend?"

Us: "uuuhhhh no...."

Guy: "Here my number. Please message me"

Uuuhhh noooooo

There was more that was said and it was just all around creepy!! Being tall and just bigger than everyone here in Japan is a blessing because no one will really mess with me. All I would have to do is step on them :)

BEWARE THE CURRY

So we went to Tsukuba University to go make some college friends, and we went to the food court!! We got some curry and sat by some really nice Chinese girls and we are eating right?? I'm probably mid-swallow and I realize that there was something in my throat that wasn't food. (REMINDER: I am mid-swallow!) And I kinda freeze up, reach in my mouth, and I pull out this 12 inch black hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUT OF MY THROAT!!!!!! OH I WAS ABSOLUTELY DEAD!!! I almost rolled over and died on the ground!!

So literally beware of cafeteria food. Here in Japan, and in America.

VBALL MY JAM

My favorite form of Dendo (missionary work) is when it is just fun!! Ochiai 姉妹 invited us to play volleyball with her and some of her non-member friends!!! Oh my gosh. I miss volleyball so much. It was seriously such a great moment :') like I said earlier, me being tall...they were all kinda terrified of me haha

But hey! We got all the moms pumped about mission school!! ✊

This is still so weird to me, and many of you probably saw it on my Facebook, but exactly one year ago I received a letter in the mail that completely changed my life. That special letter told me where I was going to serve my Heavenly Father, and where I was going to find my eternal friends. That letter promised me that I would experience this special kind of happiness that could only can be experienced because of Jesus Christ. I was promised that my knowledge of the Savior and my faith in him would grow because of this choice to serve a mission.

I have only been on my mission for 8 months...but this mission has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am so lucky to be a missionary in the Japan Tokyo mission 🗾I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else.

I love being a set apart servant of God. :)

Sorry this email is super short, but we are going on SICK adventures around Tokyo!!! So you'll hear about those next week!! Love you all!!!
