Week 31 - I FOUND MY FRIEND!

BAPTISM BAP BAPTISM

I found my friend. My best friend in the whole world. Yuka was baptized on Saturday and that was easily the best day of my whole life. I have NEVER been so happy in my whole life. My joy is literally so hard to put into words. I had an interview with my mission president this week, and he asked me,

"Sister Phelps, do you know why you were sent to Tsukuba?"

And I said, "I needed to find Yuka." he just nodded, smiled and said..."The Lord is just so great, isn't he?"

I am so happy. The Lord blessed my SO MUCH. He put Yuka in my path and she just changed my life. I love her with all of my heart. When she walked into the font, there was a long 5 silents of silence before the prayer started...and sunlight flowed from the window...right onto Yuka. The spirit just filled the room and it was like the Lord gave me His heart for like 5 seconds. I just cried. and when she got out...we hugged and just cried. The first thing she said was, "wow. why was the water so cold?" ahhaha *my bad...I mixed up the 'hot' and 'cold' buttons*

haha as she was changing she was like, "OH MY GOSH I AM SO HAPPY!! I AM REBORN!!!" she felt that major difference!! OH it was the best day of my life. I love her so so SO much.

MEETINGS

We had District meeting, Zone meeting, Zone conference, and Interviews all this week!! I was hit by a spiritual bus like everyday. For Zone conference, the assistants asked Sister Haroldsen and I to do a Repentance mogi (practice lesson) in front of the whole zone. That was the first time I have taught repentance in Japanese...and it WAS AWESOME. I felt as if the Lord was just putting Japanese sentences into my brain. The spirit really saved me on that one! haha It was such a cool experience!

VBALL & SUSH

We went with Yuka and another member in our ward to go play volleyball!! OH HOW I HAVE MISSED IT. It was the best time ever!!! Of course I was about 3 feet taller than everyone there, so they were terrified out of their minds! haha one of the ladies there said I was like a goddess. (LOL) if she really knew me...I don't think she would be sayin that ahah. she'd be like, "who dis crazy white chick?" Yuka also has some sweet game when it comes to volleyball. WOO!

After, we found this sushi resturant where every plate of sushi was 100 yen. (which is like 1$) and it was ssooooo goooood. I also was pressured into eating Nato. (which is fermented soy beans that has the consistancy of boogers). mmm. It was so nasty. There is a picture of my reaction below. *I DON'T RECOMMEND* It probably is why Japanese people look 30 years old when they are really 90 years old...I still can't believe it.

TEMPLE

TODAY WAS TEMPLE PDAY!!!! Oh it was literally the best. I love the temple SO much!!!! I saw my trainer there, and we just cried when we saw each other. I love her so much. We still have a bunch of fun festivities for the rest of the day! We are going to go to Asaksa! So there will probably be pictures of that next week.

I'm sorry this email is super all over the place...BUT I LOVE MY MISSION!!!! I LOVE JAPAN AND I LOVE JAPANESE PEOPLE SO MUCH. I really am so happy :) The Lord has really blessed me with so much.

赤司

"When we come unto Christ...even if we can do no more than touch the hem of his clothes....he will heal us perfectly."

The savior is my best friend. I have realized that the more we try to consecrate ourselves...the more weaknesses and imperfections we see....but that's because we are getting closer to the Savior. He shows us our weaknesses to show us that he is the only way we can turn those into strengths. Ether 12:27

I hope you have the best week ever! I LOVE YOU!!!
