Week 18 - よよよ

こんいちわよ! このしゅわすごくたのしいです!

We had so many miracles happen this last week! Also, to those people who told me that Japan never gets cold before my mission....WHY YOU LIE?? it gets freezing!! There are no coats here that fit me. my arms are too long ahha "flip elder"!! I feel bad because Sister Oaks and I share one coat! Who ever's skin is more purple...they get it first. We have both gotten sick this week 😷

OH, I do want to talk more about my companion because I realize that I said like one sentence about her when we had transfers haha.

SISTER OAKS!

She is my same height. She is from Alpine, UT. She could probably win an award for her sarcasm. She is only a transfer ahead of me, and knows Japanese like the back of her hand. (she had a nihonjin companion before she got me) It took a little bit to adjust to a new human glued to my hip..but she is such a great missionary!:) she works really hard and loves Japanese food. She is probably the reason why I am starting to get rice cheeks.

THOSE MIRACLES DOE

Haruko-- One of my favorite best friends of all time..(Seira) invited us over to her house this last week, and on our way there we started talking in English to these teenage girls on the Eki. We gave them all chidashis, and right before we got on the escalator...a woman ran up to us and said, "OH my goodness! I love to speak English!!" she was the most genki person I have ever met! Her name is Haruko san. We talked to her for about 15 minutes, and she said that she has been to America before and knows a lot about Jesus! She was like, "here, have my number!!" I was low-key just dying because THAT NEVER HAPPENS!!! Nihonjin are very closed off...gentle...and delicate people. haha A couple days later she called us and said, "So when is church?? I am coming!" AND SHE CAME AND LOVED IT!! she is totally going to be baptized. I can feel it!!

Hitomi-

She is a less active member from the Philippines! She is so ped in like 5 languages its insane. Gift of tongues or nah?

We saw her name in area book..(I had never met her before) and the second we did...SIster Oaks and I had a spiritual confirmation that we needed to go visit her. We found her apartment, and she answered the door!! We got to know her a little bit and then all of a sudden she just broke down. She was crying so hard and she told us that she has been battling some really hard and scary depression. She had told us that she has been bullied at her work and a few of her co-workers told her that she needs to kill herself!! (HOW AWFUL IS THAT!! No one should ever be told such horrible things!)

She embraced me and just started sobbing at her doorstep. All I have to say is that GOD IS REAL AND WORKS IN AMAZING WAYS. My companion and I were truly guided to her house by the spirit of the lord. And to think that I have been guided to people who are going through things that I have already experienced....God is real. and He loves his children more than we could ever comprehend. She is so strong and I know God has something really special in store for her.

TURTLE🐢

Random experience that was pretty gross...we were walking home one afternoon and we see this crushed...definitely dead... turtle on the ground. Similar to when I would have a really nice, perfect, sliced piece of birthday cake on my plate and Connor would come out from behind me smash it with his fist.

My guess is that some kid threw it out of a window, and a car ran over it! It was so gross and blood was everywhere. The lady was acting as if it was her child on the ground.

I almost just pulled out a handy dandy Plan of Salvation pamphlet right there! Ya know, when we have the bigger picture of God's plan of happiness embedded in our minds..about how families are eternal....loss is still hard, but still bearable.😊

I'm sorry, that probably wasn't funny.
