Week 14 - Rain Is My Forte'

WHAAAATTTT UUUPPP!!! My beautiful people in America?! Everything is all good here in Nihon!! I hit my 1 month mark here in Japan!! On October 12th! And we only have one more week of this transfer. I'm praying that I stay here in Senzokuike! And that Sister Moffat does too!!

Many miracles, Nihonjins, and cereal :) a few of my favorite things💕

ELLIE'S BAPTISM

Holy cow!!!!!! Yesterday was the best day ever!!! Our investigator Ellie was baptized! I don't think I could explain how happy I felt in english...or in Japanese...but literally NOTHING comes close to the complete, and pure joy I felt when she came out of the water, and was confirmed a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. MISSIONARY WORK IS SO HARD, YET SO REWARDING JUST FOR THOSE MOMENTS. She bore her testimony afterwards and she said, "I know my Heavenly Father loves me." That really touched me because she was totally convinced there wasn't a God about a month ago!! I am so grateful that she opened her heart to the gospel! She is my best friend in the whole world!! Sister Moffat and I are like her mom's!! We love showing her off to people!😊

MYCA

Another miracle! We got a referral from unknown someone, and we visited their friend Myca! Turns out she is living in Las Vegas, but her mom lives in japan and is dying in the hospital due to cancer. (The lord is just guiding me to all these amazing people, who I can relate to so much!) We visited her, and she let us in!! She is the coolest tomboy you'll ever meet. She does boxing, and usually I'm not afraid of people...but she could totally wreck me if she wanted to ahha

Anyway, Just as we started talking she just had a melt down. It was the coolest experience to be able to bare a fervent testimony of the gospel. She told us that because of this hard time...she feels like God has abandoned her...which led her to question his existence. <HE'S REAL DANGIT haha>

Long story short, we told her that we would help her with whatever she needed help with and she told us that she wanted us to clean her porch!! So we did and we got 2 new friends (her neighbors) and an investigator out of it!! Service is always a thing :) Also, we found a family of frogs and when I discovered them...I just want to say, I had to change my clothes later 😅💩

FESTIVITIES W/KAMINO

That same day, we took a break and went on this awesome adventure to this crazy awesome festival to a really famous temple in Japan. It was beautiful!! And the culture is so cool to learn about! It's great because I just get free stuff because I'm white! I never got this kinda treatment in America!!

PHELPS VS. COCKROCHES

I won :) it was a rigorous battle, but I finally had enough courage to jump over it to run away! 👍

MOMO AND VIDS

We had zone Pday today!! Which was SO FUN!!! We played games at the church and watched the Joseph Smith movie! Classic missionary stuff! But on our way back, we met a girl named Momo and I would have taken her to the church to get baptized right then!! But I couldn't do that because she isn't from our area :') I had the strongest connection to her though! I told her she was my new best friend and she was like "WOA WHAT?! Okay!!!" I truly felt so much love for her!! That's the best part about being a missionary. You feel sincere love for complete strangers all the time ❤

I've noticed that when Nihonjins meet Americans, they are very scared/intimidated. So it makes sense that when I talk to people...they run away because of how happy and scary I am :)

We talked to this other girl on the train, and as we were talking...she raises her iPhone up and starts taking a video of us!!!!!! As if we were like celebrities or something 💁 like, she couldn't believe 2 American girls were talking to her! I lost it! I was laughing so hard!!

I'm sorry this email is so broad and kinda boring...but I'm happy and staying busy!! 😊I have no time left, but I hope that you all have a great week!! I LOVE YOU!!!! みなさん、愛していますよ!このきょかいわしんじつです!神様わわたしたちおあいしています。

愛、

フェルプス姉妹
