Whaaaatttt iiisssss uuuuuupppp!? My fam in SLC✌ I just wanted to say that I love you so much!! I had alot of moments this week where I thought about my family. I just want you all to know that I really appreciate and love you. I am so incredibly lucky. You all: Mom, Dad, Cam, Connor, Noah....and Roxy (can't leave out my fav family member ;) 🐶 ) You all have changed my life. I am so grateful that you're all gonna be stuck with me throughout eternity!!
First off...COCKROACHES
So on Monday night...we were getting ready to PASS OUT. I go into the study room to get my journal and I look on the ground as I'm walking and I ALMOST STEPPED ON A BLOODY FLIPPING COCKROACH!!!!! OH. I pooped my pants no doubt. I screamed my face off, and I yelled for Sister Moffat. She came running in and the cockroach was gone. And where there is one....there is one hundred more.
We (as in I) basically started crying. We just stood there at the study room door looking for it...about 5 mins passed when I shut the door and tried to forget about it.
I went into our room and I noticed a huge piece of lint on Sister Moffat's futon. I then had the biggest grin on my face...😈 I put it on the edge of her white pillow and called her in.. pointing to it (I was kneeling down right next to it). She come in and was like..
"What??? What is that...*widens her eyes so big..grabs my arm with a death grip..and pretty much jumped into my arms* OH MY!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!" Just screaming.
Oh my gosh I completely lost it. I literally scared her so bad she was peeing her pants. She told me that was the most scared she has ever been in like 5 years.
SUH DUDE
So teaching Eikaiwa is the best!!! And because all these Japanese people don't know English...it's so fun to teach them some English slang!! At the last 10 mins of our class we taught them "Suh dude"!! And then we taught them that while they say that...they have to put a peace sign next to their eye. Oh my gosh. If a group of older Japanese people..walking around saying "suh dude" to everyone...doesn't make your life 10x better...I don't know what does. :)
CONFERENCE
So because I am across the world from everyone in America...I haven't watched all conference yet! Which is killing me because it is my favorite time of the year!! But we did watch the women's conference on Saturday broadcasted in English on Saturday! Being a missionary in an English ward has its perks! They fed us and we made some fun crafts after! I pained a picture of a Christmas tree!! It was awesome!! We also brought our investigator Ellie! She is LOVING the church!!! I am so excited for her to be baptized :)
It's so cool that Connor was in the choir!! How did that even happen? I didn't know he liked to sing? Lol. Homie why you keep in secrets??? I'm excited to watch conference this weekend with all the musical numbers so I can see the people I know singing!!! :)
MIRACLES
We taught Ellie about the Word of Wisdom this last week. And it was crazy because she LOVES drinking. Coffee, tea, alcohol...everything. And she was so confused on WHY we have the word of wisdom. And it was so cool to see her heart being softened throughout the lesson. When she committed to live the word of wisdom...she said, "I love Coffee....but I love God more. I choose him." She completely stopped drinking since then. God has helped her have no desire to drink coffee or tea!! We told her about how much happier she will be and how god will continue to bless her life. She said, "Ya know...I've been really surprised that it actually works!" It does work!!! The gospel works in everyone's life! And through Jesus Christ, we can do all things :)
MOFFAT FARTS
We were talking to our district leader over the phone today (on speaker) and all of a sudden...the one time there was silence...Sister Moffat just let's the loudest fart RIP!!! Oh my gosh It was so loud. I felt like I had to go outside and dig myself grave because I was laughing so hard. She is basically my other half 😂 and it's crazy how much we look alike!!! We get asked multiple times a day if we are twins!! Haha
Anyway, that's my week! Alot of other awesome things happened too, but if I told you now...there wouldn't be any fun stories to tell in person ;)
OH, before I forget..we have temple pday next week, so my pday will be on Tuesday! Instead of Monday. So you'll probably get my next email on Tuesday morning? Idk. Haha
I love you all!! Thank you for all the prayers. I have truly felt them. Being a missionary is so hard...But it is the best thing that has BY FAR ever happened to me. I get to experience miracles every single day :) and i also experience so much rejection. I'm in a whole new world where God isn't the center of people's lives anymore. Being rejected honestly breaks my heart to pieces. Because they are passing up the best gift in the world.
There have been many moments on the train (where everyone is so engulfed in their social media and on their phones btw..it's dead silent on the trains) but there are so many moments where I want to just get everyone's attention and say,
"HELLO!!!! I have a message that will completely change your lives!!!! And that message is...GOD IS REAL. HE EXISTS!!! AND HE LOVES YOU!! *probably start teaching all the lessons idk*"
Maybe I will one day, when my Japanese is actually more than "Konnichiwa".
I'm grateful for the knowledge of the gospel. For the happiness I feel...and the light that it brings into my life. It is all real :)
あいしていますよ!
