WHAT IS UP FAM!!! I just love you all :) I haven't really heard from people in a while, so I hope everyone is good :) I only have 1 more P day here in the U.S!!!! The MTC experience has really flown by!
WATER FIGHT
So I love Asians. and so because i love asians so much, I am constantly around the nihonjin sisters :) they are my HOMIES. although I dont understand 100% of what they say...I am so good at loving them!! its the easiest thing to do :) haha Shim shimai is my bff. she is from Korea! she is fluent in korean, japanese, and semi-fluent in english. her and i clicked right off the bat!! so she came in my room the other night to come chill with me, and we came up with this super sick hand shake!! We both leave to go to the bathroom, and i am at the sink and i have this super huge smerk on my face.....;) I cup my hands, fill it with as much water as i could...and i chucked it at her face! ahhaha that started a war ahhahahaha. i ran away..but she caught me and got me back so bad. it was so funny!!! hahah
TAYTAY
OKAY so on Sunday there was a devotional, right?? I got an email from my cousin Taylor that morning, and he said that his girlfriend was going to be a guest speaker at the devotional!! I was so stoked because I love Mariah :) After the closing prayer, i get up and drag my companion to the front to say hi to her. AND I SEE TAYLOR SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO HER!!!! I didn't know he was gonna be there!!! I sit there in complete shock...and then i go ahead and just throw my arms around him!!! right in front of the MTC Presidency hah. It was so nice to hug someone taller than me for once! I'm the tallest sister missionary going to Japan, and obviously we cant hug elders...so #TenderMercy!! The MTC presidency walks up to us...one stands next to taylor, and says..."so uh...how do you know this sister???" He had the look of death on his face because its like a huge sin to ..ya know....hug the opposite gender as a missionary. But i am so happy that i saw him. It was such a blessing :)
GOT WRECKED
So while waiting for choir on Sunday, we had to wait for the gym doors to open. and I was surrounded by all these missionaries. I was next to this elder who was really annoying me..he was so loud, and he kept kicking me (on accident...?) and i was like super annoyed. ahha anyway, he stands up to put his suit jacket on, and he completely WRECKS ME. He punched me in the face as he tried to put his arm through his sleeve. and he was kinda a hefty dude!! it took all of my self control and will power to not just lose it and nail him in the mouth. hahah but its okay now because i talked to heavenly father about it, and I repented for being quick to anger. but yeah, I had a crazy bruise on my cheekbone for a few days.
NEW PEEPS
We got new cohei last week!!!!! WE ALL HOMIES!!!!! the first few days we taught them a ton of Japanese games and got to know each other. It was SO AWESOME!! I find so much enjoyment watching them adjust to mission life because I felt the same as them about 2 months ago ahha. It's so crazy that I will be leaving my MTC family in less than 2 weeks!! :')
NAME TAG
On Sunday we had a ton of leadership meetings, and while our branch president was talking to us...he stops everything and says, "phelps and gorner shimai...i didnt know you were related!" we look at eachother in confusion...and i was like, "well...i mean, we both are wearing floral...but thats about it.." I look down and look at Gorner shimai's name tag...and she is wearing my other name tag!!!!! hahahah i just busted up laughing aahaha. Gorner shimai was in a hurry this morning, and she tosses me my name tag, and apparently my 2nd name tag was next to hers...and she just grabbed one on her way out ahhaha. so she was repping me on sunday!! We had alot of fun with it when people noticed! we made up a story that she was my adopted cousin. hahah!! you would probably die if i told you how many people actually believed us :') ahhah
TENDER MERCIES
Tender mercies are so real. i have seen the lords hand in my life every single day. Its so much fun to look for :) i know that the lord loves his children, and hard things do happen to good people. Not because they deserve trials or they are bad people...but the lord allows us to experience trials, so we can learn to trust him. We also experience trials because we can relate, and be a tool in the lords hand..to bless someone else. The lord is so perfect and he knows what is best for everyone. i love him :)
