First Week Completed

WHADDUP FAM!!!! I have been so excited for P-day because i get to tell you all about my week!!! FIRST OF ALL...hi :)

I honestly LOVE the MTC!!!!! The food is a different story...which I will tell you about in a second! haha But honestly i feel as if i am in a celestial bubble 25/7 lol. Which is so cool! There has been so much going on that I dont even have time to think of home haha! So as I said, my companion is Gorner Shimai! And she has taught me alot since i have been here. Including some weird phrases that she has a habit of saying haha! (canadian) She is so good at the language and I am like....EH at the language! So during lessons that is honestly such a blessing! hahah BUT WE HAD A LESSON LAST WEEK THAT I ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON!!!! I was speaking broken japanese, but I understood alot of what the investigator was saying! (during previous lessons...Mae would speak..and for us..it was like a deer in the headlights. we would just smile and nod the whole time! Not knowing what the crap she just said hahah! BUT we decided that we would take the lessons alot more seriously and actually try to communicate! And it worked!! We got to know her, which was probably the best part! We showed her pictures of our family and she told us about hers and it was BOMB! That lesson was also really good because we had a very strong impression to talk about the Plan of Salvation. The second we walked through the door, it was like everything was different! I dont know how to explain it. But wow. Moments like that make me realize how much I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!! I cant wait to actually know what their saying 100% of the time and what I am saying 100% of the time. I am so blessed to be here.

Now about the food because thats all i can think about right now haha

SOOOO honestly the food here hecka clogs you up. So the other day, Kema shimai (sister in my district/room) and I decided to take Laxitives because I felt like I was going to explode from the inside out...On July 18th, we got a confirmation that those Laxitive pills indeed work. Every 5-10 mins i would explode myself in the bathroom. it was so crazy. I had a real dumb and dumber moment. Also, if you looked up the word, "self hatred" in the dictionary...my name would be there. We have so many inside joke about poop and crap in our district. hahah when i walked out of the bathroom (in pain) my companion and I walk back to our class. and the second we got there, I had another poop feeling, so i BOOKED it to the bathroom!! we get there and Shae & her companion are outside of that bathroom! Shae's companion walks out and was like.."WOA...IT SMELLS SO BAD IN THERE" my companion and i look at eachother AND WE COMPLETELY LOSE IT. Anyway, moral of the story...dont take laxitives. they actually work.

My first sunday here was honestly one of the best times of my mission so far. We had sunday devotional where we watched, "The characters of Christ" by Elder Bednar. That honestly was the turning point in my mission. I know that as we TURN OUTWARD like christ would, and not turn in when the natural man would...we will be able to obtain blessings and become more christlike. When the video was over, ELDER BEDNAR JUST WALKS THROUGHT THE DOOR LIKE NBD AND SAYS, "do you have any questions???" Long story short...we all died.

I love my district so much!! it has only been a week, and we are all so tight! I truly feel blessed to be with them. We decided that our district motto is "God doesnt do Random." There are no coincedences. I wasnt assigned a random mission just for fun. I know that i was CALLED BY GOD to serve in japan. and i am so excited to serve him and those people. I know that the lord answers prayers and is always there to pour out blessings as long as we are obedient.

I love you all!!! Thank you for all the emails I have gotten this week! They truly are like GOLD!!! I can read them during the day, but I just cant respond til p-day. KEEP THE EMAILS COMIN!!! It truly makes me happy to hear from family and friends.

Love you!!!

Phelps shimai
